Dear Agony Aunt

Dear Agony Aunt, My boyfriend and I were eloping to get married when suddenly he got a change of heart and said he no longer loved me but loved my best friend instead! I don’t know what she has done to bewitch him but I am really angry with her. What should I do? Hermia x

  1. i think you should talk to your bestfriend and ask her what she's done, if she's a good friend she will let you know. if he also really loves you he'll realise you're the one, just talk to them both. (anon)

  2. Dear Hermia,
Do not be upset. There obviously has been something that made him do this. Give him some time to think and don't always pester him. If nothing happens then he doesn't deserve your heart. Try to find someone else who won't cheat, also don't always be upset about him. Enjoy life whilst you can. I Wish You The Best.

  3. follow your heart even if it means you have to wait forever xx (by Anon.)

  4. This sounds like a BIG mix up, I think you should speak to Helena but dont be angry with her, try and speak to her as your best friend. Who knows she might have a really good reason that can explain all this madness. Besides she has been your best friend since you were children, you shouldn't let this get in between the friendship you have. If she doesn't provide a valid reason for the unfortunate events then maybe you should work together to solve the problem, that way you can both be happy!
However if all this is too much for you and you definately dont want to speak to Helena, then I think you should go back to Athens and continue your life. No one deserves such cruel words... If this is the attitude your lover has taken then it showes that he can easily change his mind, so my advice is just don't waste your time on him. He is obviously very unstable and wouldn't be a good match to marry. Maybe reconsider all your past decisions. Another handy tip, if you wish to get over him, is to shut him out of your life completely!
    hope it helped Hermia.

  5. Just ignore him! It's his loss. If he can't see your true beauty and love for him, he is not worthy of you. When you turn him down, he will realise what a fool he has been. But for now, you must be independent. Good Luck X (by Anon.)

  6. I think that you should try to get your mind of it. Something must have happened. If he truly ever loved you, soon everything will turn out alright and he will realize that he was a fool. And don't be angry at your friend - she is probably also shocked at all of this and wants the best for you. If your boyfriend does not realize what he has done and that he has hurt you... you know he was never the right one for you. (by Anon.)

  7. I would disobey your father and just marry him and hold a secret wedding behind his back then run away so they don't know that you married him. (by Anon.)

  8. This must be so hard for you. I know you must feel they both have let you down, but don't you think they are acting out of character? Something must have happened to change their behaviour to you. What do you think it is? (by Anon.)

  9. I think you should just wait he will soon realize that he loves you and not her.

  10. Hermia gets angry because of her dad who would do that she has to do what her dad says or everything bad would happen (By Anon.)

Loves Lysander

I am Hermia, a young Athenian woman who is in love with Lysander. My father is unhappy with this match though and wants me to marry Demetrius. Theseus tells me that unless I abide by my father’s will, and marry the favoured Demetrius, then I must live the life of a nun. Unhappy with this conclusion, I agree to elope with Lysander into the forest. I am in love with Lysander but still wish to remain chaste until I am wed to him. I later become confused at Lysander’s sudden change of heart in preference of Helena and I fight with her over his love. Fortunately, when morning comes, Lysander heart is restored back to me.
